It certainly isn't a Bob Murphy pause at the top but I didn't realize there was a slight pause at the top of Fred's swing

Watching Freddie or Ernie Els has often helped me get my tempo back. Freddie is so relaxed while swinging he club, yet he was a long hitter in his day.
Freddy has one of the smoothest swings ever. I still use a Freddy drill from probably the 90’s that I find helps tempo and timing. Line 5 balls in a straight line about a foot apart take your 150 yd club now hit Objective is to hit each ball 100 yards in a continuous motion hit the first ball step forward hit the next ball step forward hit the next until you’ve hit all five balls with a swing at 2/3 power. You will find that the slight pause Freddy has at the top will occur naturally as you move forward set yourself for the next ball with the club staying in continuous motion.
