    GTA AM Tour 2024

I signed up for my first season a month ago, and just managed to get off the waitlist for a couple more events this week, currently signed up for 7 events - Cobble Beach, Barrie, Brantford, Ladies, Granite, Meadowbrook, Nest, and hoping to get in a few more - Cherry Hill, Coppinwood, Cedar Brae & Maple Downs.

Who else is playing this year?

Glad you got in a few more, and some decent venues as well.

Yeah, apart from Cobble and Nest, both of which have been on my list for a while, I’m mainly targeting the private courses I couldn’t normally play - i’ve only played 1 course on that list - so will be great to get out there.

Are they still doing Mad River? That was always my favourite of the courses they had in the rotation

I do not see a lot of GTA courses in the rota. Maybe rename it the Central Ontario And Partly GTA Amateur Tour.

16/32 venues are GTA courses. That doesn't include Barrie, Hamilton and Niagara as GTA.

Since C19 and the continued unprecedented demand for tee times, several long standing GTA courses were lost as management could not justify giving up the course for a day when members are complaining they cant get tee times.

Those included Wyndance, Diamondback, King Valley, King's Riding, Pulpit x2, Scarborough, TPC OV x3, Country Club, Whitevale, Oshawa

The rumour was that in 2021 the Tour was in in jeopardy of not having enough courses to carry on but with some incredibly hard work they were able to secure venues outside the traditional boundaries ( even though there have always been events at Wildfire, Niagara, Dundas, Collingwood, Muskoka) and keep the tour alive.

Or just continue to call it GTA AM and just assume it covers more than the GTA Area which has limited options as Weirfan pointed out.

I signed up a bit too late. The courses that I would have liked to played were full. There were others that I like, but I'm not keen to drive over 2 hours. All that said, I'm registered for 4, so that should be fun.

This isn't a dress rehearsal. Enjoy yourself. There's no do-over.

From what i’ve heard, as the dates get closer to the payment deadline people tend to drop out, so hopefully you can get into more

I'm not on the tour this year but for those who haven't played it, Mad River is a very very nice surprise. Recommend getting on the wait list for that one.

This is great input, I have heard really good things about the tour.
