If you are out west Ontario at all Sussman's of Arthur may be worth checking out.

Also in Hamilton there is Stoney Creek Tailors for bespoke suits. I haven't checked them out but have been told their prices are very good.

If you're buying a suit to wear once or twice a year, then get a cheap one from JAB. But if you're wearing them daily, then invest in a 3 for x$ deal elsewhere. As mentioned, Harry Rosen at Heartland is a great place to start.

You can really tell who is wearing a cheap suit by the way the arms meet the shoulders. Cheap suits pucker and wrinkle in that area.

And if you're downtown, and needing to impress, then you will NEED a $600+ suit.

I wore suits for a while, like 3 days a week and Moores was perfectly fine. Some of their higher end suits are better, but just stay away from the Perry Ellis stuff they have.

I remember going to harry's before I started my first out of school. Of course I got sticker shock. I asked the salesman when the next sale was. His reply and I quote verbatim. "sir, at harry dozens, we don't have SALES.". A couple years later, at the peak of the last recession, Harry had his first sale and never looked back

I've got quite a few and have bought mine either at the Bay or Winners. I have gotten a few really good deals on these for some pretty decent suits. No they aren't $1000 suits but are good quality, fit well and have worn well. My suits go out of style before I outwear them. I was in Winners recently and they had some nice Boss suits for $499 which is pretty good but more than I like to spend.

Also not impressed with Korry's. The quality is just OK but they have absolutely no sense of what customer service is all about. My experience with them on a 1 - 10 scale would be about 3........! But they will serve you an espresso.

Should add, Blazer for Men in Oakville might be the best men's store in Canada, but you'll pay for it. That said, I'm thinking of retiring some Alberto pants I bought over a decade ago and wear hundreds of times that were 225 bucks, but look almost brand new to this day. I can't think of a great reason to retire them other than I like the newer ones better and want to buy them. You get what you pay for.

I can't tell the difference from a $300 CK suit and a high-end custom. I wear suits quite often with work and have bought all of them from Sears or The Bay. I'm not a suit guy, so it isn't a big deal. Just like some people don't care for cars so they drive whatever is efficient for them.
