    2024 - 2025 General NHL thread

Other than the Leafs and the Sens threads, there are seldom other teams represented.

    Free Agency starts Monday.

    Any predictions?

”Andrew Mangiapane has been traded from Calgary to Washington for a second-round pick in 2025.”

Panthers lineup won’t look the same. Where will Stamkos land? And finally- a Florida team has been in the last 5 cup finals - this is the new NHL.

MVP….it seems the NHL voters have passed on McDavid again….he is in a league of his own….they just expect him
to be the best and ignore that…very dumb voters jmo

MacKinnon is a very good choice . . . either one and even Kucherov would have been OK. MacKinnon has more points than McDavid and the Avs have 9 more points than the Oilers.

All 3 were very, very good and a step ahead of all the other players. McDavid would had been a good choice also . . .

I hope Kucherov lost it for his total lack of interest in even putting in a small effort in the All Star Game. He embarrassed himself, his team and the league. F*** him.

Well MacKinnon was also voted winner of the Ted Lyndsay Award which is the Most Outstanding player as voted by the NHL Players......so HE was a unanimous choice as the leagues best by the Panel of writers/experts and the players.....so I doubt that they are all stupid.

McDavid is incredible and it could have gone to him or Kuch as well and these three are head and shoulders the best 3 forwards in the league.

the selections to the first and 2nd all star teams capture all 3 and these are the best 12 players in the NHL .

            FIRST ALL-STAR TEAM

Forwards: Nathan MacKinnon (COL), Artemi Panarin (NYR), Nikita Kucherov (TBL)
Defencemen: Quinn Hughes (VAN), Roman Josi (NSH)
            Goaltender: Connor Hellebuyck (WPG)

            SECOND ALL-STAR TEAM

Forwards: Connor McDavid (EDM), Filip Forsberg (NSH), David Pastrnak (BOS)
Defencemen: Cale Makar (COL), Adam Fox (NYR)
            Goaltender: Thatcher Demko (VAN)

Loved the Michael Buffer announcement of Philly’s pick.

From Stamkos’ agent Don Meehan, who tells me regarding his client:
“He will be a free agent on July 1.”
So would appear Stamkos is going to market Monday unless something changes in Tampa’s position. - Pierre LeBrun

Great reaction, I think he was projected around 10 - 12 pick and went 3rd overall.

Not quite. Top 2 players at each position is more accurate than best 12 players.

Pretty wild looking in the Sphere isn’t it? Can you imagine how cool it feels to be one of the kids drafted and seeing video later of yourself on the exterior of the Sphere let alone just being in it?

That was the first time in a while I watched the whole draft and that was well done. Looked awesome on TV I’m sure it was the same inside.

Sportsnet could have dump Chuck Fletcher thou. If there was a drinking game for David Amber saying “ on a run of” those people are hurting units this morning or in a coma.

The reaction from a couple kids and where they went I the draft is priceless. Plus Hage getting chosen by Montreal and his story warms the heart.
