Volunteer 5 hours/week for Free Golf.

I was at Tyandaga today and they have postings up that indicate that they need more Volunteers.
The Volunteer positions open are for Starters, Rangers and Cart Detail.
One 5 hour shift per week is required. Free golf 7 days per week. Some Tee time restrictions.
    Please contact Tyandaga Pro Shop.

Ya, I think that Century Pines does the same thing. I heard 1 shift for one round.

Arguably the worst job for any volunteer as you try and drag the drunks off the course.

The return/compensation varies significantly course to course.

Some offer as above golf on a quota , others give a %age discount on the green fee, some it's no golf but you are paid minimum wage and there are several that pay both minimum wage and allow golf to be played. Some also offer discounts on food and proshop merchandise and reduced guest rates.

Turnover is high in these jobs ( both quits and let go's) as marshalling is not easy
( especially with the crazy volumes we have seen since c19) and not for everybody, nor is getting to work at 4:30 am.

Those course that offer better compensation have greater interest and are able to sift through the applicants and get better folks.

As for restrictions on play, most courses have those. Again, this has been even moreso during c19 when tee time demand has been so high. Obviously a daily fee course isnt going to want a group of staff taking 4 green fees out of their pocket every day and private courses members get priority of bookings. That said a friend who works at Don Valley is allowed to book as many tee times as he wants at any time ahead of the general public, same for all staff there.

One other thing to make note is most courses have a uniform that you will have to pay for. Ours includes hats, shirts, shorts and jacket. Discounted but still a cash outlay is typically required.

The Golf course is a great place to work , IMO

                  That's good deal.
The semi-private club I used to belong to had vol marshals. One 5 hr shift = 1 green fee credit with tee time restrictions.

Not to say they don't play...but I have never seen them playing golf...but then.... I'm not at the course a lot and there are 36 holes.

I did not realize that they are that far behind us in BC, maybe just suffering from Jet Lag LOL
